Where did you grow up?
I grew up here in Northern Virginia, Loudoun County specifically.
Why did you become a doctor and why did you choose your specialty?
I worked as a NICU nurse before beginning my career as an NP. My time in the NICU was invaluable, tough, and also incredibly rewarding. NICU patients often face challenges with chronic lung disease even after leaving the hospital. This population is what drew me to Pulmonology. I spent majority of my NP clinical time in the Pulmonology clinic at Children’s National in Washington, DC and have never looked back!
What do you most enjoy doing outside of your clinical practice, when you’re not working?
Primarily spending time with my husband and our two kids. We’re a big traveling bunch, but if we are in town, we’re usually out at the farmer’s market or local library.
Describe your proudest accomplishment as a provider and/or in your personal life:
Most definitely raising my two children.
If you weren’t a doctor, what profession would you most likely be doing and why?
I’m a foodie, so I’d enjoy being a food critic and getting to try the latest and greatest restaurants around.
